The Missouri Tigers men’s basketball team fell to the Georgia Bulldogs February 25th with a score of 71-56. Charles Mann led the Bulldogs with 19 points and Marcus Thornton added 15 of his own. The Tigers who were coming off a recent loss to Alabama really hurt their chances of making a sixth straight appearance in the NCAA tournament. Missouri is now in a two way tie for tenth place in the Southeastern Conference, one that they expected to dominate.
Although the Tigers outrebounded Georgia, they struggled in nearly every other facet of the game. Mizzou missed 15 of its first 16 attempts beyond the arc and got outscored 38-18 in the paint. Missouri is now 2-6 playing in SEC road games. With the Tigers defense struggling in the last few games, the team’s hopes at an NCAA tournament bid are becoming grim. The Missouri Tigers, led by Jabari Brown and Jordan Clarkson, are looking to bounce back from their two consecutive losses by winning their final 3 games of the season.
