Chiefs Get the Spot Light

The NFL has revealed the 2011-2012 season schedule and the Kansas City Chiefs have drawn three prime time games. Week 8 the Chiefs host the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football, a rematch from last years season opening which was also on Monday Night Football. Then just a few weeks later KC’s GM Scott Pioli makes his return to New England on another Monday Night Football game. That game is also highlighted by the QB match up between Matt Cassel and Tom Brady. Then the following week the KC Chiefs travel back home to host the defending American League Champs Pittsburgh Steelers.

Those prime time games highlight one of the toughest schedules in the NFL next season. A much different look than last years schedule for the Chiefs, which they took advantage of one of the easiest schedules in rout to winning the AFC West division. They have a tough road schedule visiting San Diego, Indianapolis, New England, Chicago, New York Jets and Denver. When they come back to Kansas City it doesn’t get much easier with Minnesota, Denver, Pittsburgh and the defending World Champions Green Bay Packers.

This will be a telling year for the Chiefs to see if they truly have turned the corner to becoming an elite team again or if they just road the coat tails of an easy schedule last season. It will also be interesting to see if the San Diego Chargers regroup this season after losing there dominance of the AFC West. One this is for sure and that is this season will be another exciting year for the Kansas City Chiefs.
