The 2014-2015 Kansas Basketball season is officially underway as the Jayhawks played their first exhibition game Monday night. The Jayhawk basketball team defeated Washburn University 85-53 despite KU shooting a woeful 16-32 from the free throw line. The two most impressive players on the court were Sophomore Point Guard Frank Mason and Freshman Forward Cliff Alexander. Mason tallied 13 points with 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 1 turnover. Alexander had 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
The final exhibition game for the Jayhawks will be next Tuesday night in Allen Fieldhouse against Emporia State. The Jayhawks officially kick off the 2014-2015 season Friday November 14 in Allen Fieldhouse against the Gauchos of UC Santa Barbara. KU will then take on number 1 Kentucky in Indianapolis on November 18.
