The Kansas Basketball team grew up a lot as they went to Orlando for a “business” trip. On Thursday Kansas took on a Rhode Island team coming off a big win against a ranked Nebraska team. Kansas blew them out from the opening tip as the Jayhawks defeated the Rams 76-60. On Friday, Kansas and Tennessee made lots of runs back and forth, Tennessee trailed by double digits early second half before rallying to tie the game with 6 minutes to go. Kansas then closed the game out very strong and came away with a 82-67 win against the Volunteers.
After having all day Saturday to rest and prepare for Michigan State the Jayhawks and Spartans were ready to tip off at noon on Sunday. The Spartans led at the half 36-35, but Svi Mykhailiuk hit a huge 3 as time expired to give KU some momentum going into halftime.
The Jayhawks opened up the second half on a 8-0 run to open up a 43-36 lead and never lost the lead the rest of the way as the Jayhawks defeated the Spartans 61-56 to win the Orlando Classic. Kansas is now 5-1 on the season and on a 4 game winning streak since Kentucky obliterated the Jayhawks the second game of the season.
