Last Saturday the Kansas Jayhawks pulled off the university’s greatest comeback ever in a thrilling 52-45 win over Colorado. The ‘Hawks scored 35 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to overcome the Buffalos’ 45-17 lead. Most spectators left Memorial Stadium by then, leaving only a select few that were able to witness the comeback, considering the game wasn’t even televised.
Not only did the Jayhawks get their first Big 12 win this season, they aslo seemed to find a new starting quaterback in Quinn Mecham. Could this be the turning point for Turner Gill and the Jayhawks? The upcoming schedule says otherwise, but it is still nice to see Gill has the team playing with some passion in the midst of a disappointing season. The Jayhawks head into Lincoln next week to face off against nationally ranked Nebraska. Nobody is going to predict a Kansas victory, but fans are hoping to see the same effort that the Jayhawks had last week. KU only has the rest of this season and the offseason to get things together before they start playing teams like Texas, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State every year. Lets hope Turner Gill can turn it around by then.
