The Wichita State Shockers are playing some of the best basketball in school history. The Shockers, with a record of 18-0, have reached the number 5 spot in the AP poll. Due to their considerably unchallenging schedule some say that Wichita State is overrated and haven’t deserved their ranking. That is not the opinion of Bradley coach Geno Ford though.
In their most recent game, the Shockers rolled over Bradley with ease taking the victory 72-50. They were in control the entire game and capitalized on numerous Bradley turnovers. Fred Vanvleet led Wichita state with 22 points which tied his career high. The Bradley Braves coach stated that Wichita State is a very good team and that they have definitely earned their ranking as they dominated his squad.
Though the Shockers won by a significant 22 points, there will still be those critics who say that they are undeserving. The Bradley Braves are an unranked team who are not having a strong season so it is safe to assume that the haters will still speak up. Wichita State is doing what they need to do and are taking care of business. The Shockers look to continue as one of three undefeated teams in the NCAA and look forward to taking on Indiana St. in their next game.
