The creators of South Park are bringing their Tony Award winning Broadway show “The Book of Mormon” to the Music Hall from 02/24 to 03/08. Trey Parker and Matt Stone, along with music composer Robert Lopez, began working on this religious satire musical back in 2003, Since then they have won 9 Tony Awards including one for Best Musical and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
The musical tells the story of two young Mormon missionaries sent to a remote village in Uganda, where a brutal warlord is threatening the local population. Naïve and optimistic, the two missionaries try to share the Book of Mormon, one of their Scriptures—which only one of them has read—but have trouble connecting with the locals, who are more worried about war, famine, poverty, and AIDS than about religion.
