Chiefs lose Jayhawks lose

For Kansas City Chiefs fans, Saturdays game against the Indianapolis Colts was a heart breaker. The Chiefs, not having won a playoff game since 1993, were looking to break the streak and bring home a victory to their loyal fans. It looked as if they were going to do just that subsequent to the first half of the game. Stats show that the Colts had just a 3.6 percent chance of winning the game after being down 31-10 at halftime, and they did just that. Indianapolis fought back scoring 21 points in the third quarter and 14 points in the fourth to win the football game 45-44. Chiefs fans were in shock as they thought this game was a sure lock and that they were finally advancing in the playoffs. The Chiefs offense put up the points but their defense just could not stop Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton in the second half of this NFL game. Kansas City showed vast improvement this year coming from the worst team in the league to playoff caliber but this is a city with high standards and a hunger to win. Andy Reid and his players are looking to build on this season and come back strong again in 2014.

In other news, the 21 ranked San Diego State Aztecs took down the 16 ranked Kansas Jayhawks Sunday night. KU struggled to stop the Aztecs star Xavier Thomas as he scored 16 points. The Jayhawks standout Andrew Wiggins had a rough game shooting just 4-of-14 from the field. These factors and a few others led to a strong 61-57 win for San Diego St. who looks to continue their success this season. Kansas now goes into Big 12 Conference play with a record of 9-4 and some tough games ahead. After their next game against Oklahoma the Jayhawks will take on Kansas State, Iowa State, Oklahoma State and Baylor in their next four. KU, although unhappy with their previous losses, is looking to snag some important upcoming wins and get their season going on a new foot.
