Robinson Tejeda should be in the Royals starting rotation

I believe now is the time to put Robinson Tejeda in the Royals starting rotation.  Robinson Tejeda you say?  Yes.  He has only given up one run in his last 18 1/3 innings for the 2010 Kansas City Royals.  Last week Bruce Chen was given a spot start due to the injury to starting pitcher Gil Meche.  He did a decent job at the last minute and gave up only one run in four innings of work.  Personally, I have seen enough of Bruce Chen to know that he can’t be a regular starter for what all Kansas City Royals fans want – a championship team.  Bruce Chen will be 33 this month and has a career record of 37-43 with a 4.683 era and 1.4056 whip.  While those numbers are ok for a #4 or #5 starter, we know what we have with Bruce in the rotation.    I believe the Royals should be taking a closer look at Tejeda this year.  Tejeda did a good job last year when he gave the Royals six starts.  Robinson Tejeda is only 28 years old and might not have reached is potential ceiling.  The Royals front office should find out what we have now and know whether he can be a fixture in the 2011 Royals rotation.
