Royals Arriving In Spring Training

The Kansas City Royals players don’t have to report to spring training for a few more weeks at least, but several players are arriving in Arizona already to start their training. The Royals have big expectations for this season. The last couple years, the Kansas City Royals organization has been known for having the best minor league organization. Well, all that minor league talent is finding its way to the major leagues. Last year rookie Eric Hosmer made a huge impression and looks to be the real deal. They also had a young lefty in Danny Duffy called up and another slugger in Mike Moustakas who started to get into a zone towards the end of the year. That’s just a few of the big names the Royals organization has been excited about. Those players now have a season of experience and there are several more players that are expected to make the big jump to the majors this season. The talent seems to be building up in Kansas City and the fans are feeling it.

One of the advantages of having a young team is that they still have a lot to prove. You can see that the players are wanting to have a big break out season by a huge number of players showing up several weeks before they have to. Even the young players that have made it to the big leagues know that there are several players behind them wanting their job. The competition is great in the Royals organization and fans are feeling that the club might be turning around. After several losing seasons, the Royals have not made it to the postseason since they won the World Series in 1985. The MLB Commissioner Bud Selig is trying to get an additional wild card team added to the 2012 playoffs which would help the Royals chances of making the postseason. The fans are excited for this season and players seem to be as well. The whole organization has a buzz about it this off season and only time will tell if everything will come together.
