Sporting KC features Three All-Stars

The 2015 MLS All-Star Fan XI vote resulted in three Sporting KC players–Matt Besler, Graham Zusi, and Benny Feilhaber–selected to the squad ahead of the July 29th event.

With three selections, Sporting has the most players of any other team in the MLS. Zusi and and Besler both received their fourth selections, while Feilhaber, who is having the best season of his career, was selected for the first time.

Besler and Zusi, two USA national team members (although Besler was recently left off the 23-man roster), continue to rack up awards.

Besler was voted MLS Best XI in both 2012 and 2013, while winning MLS Defender of the Year and Breakout Player of the Year in 2012. Zusi has taken home team MVP three years in a row, led Sporting in assists each year dating back to 2011, and was named MLS best XI in 2012, 2013, and Breakout Player of the Year in 2011.

Feilhaber was named Etihad Airways Player of the Month in April and has 13 assists through all competition in 2015, five short of the all-time team record.

The MLS All-Stars will face English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur at 8 p.m., July 29th at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado.

Currently, Sporting KC is riding a three-game winning streak, including a 2-0 victory over Colorado, a 6-2 drubbing of FC Dallas, and a hugely important 1-0 win over Vancouver.

At 8-3-6, Sporting needs to win as many match’s as possible to obtain all three possible points in order to vault themselves to the forefront of the Western Conference, where they currently sit two points behind leader Seattle Sounders FC.

Next up for Sporting is a July 18 home match against Montreal, followed by an Open Cup match at Sporting Park against Houston on July 21st. Get the best tickets available for both matches at ticketsforless.com and cheer on Sporting!
